Windows Have Been Installed at The Cake Bake Shop!
As hard as it may be to believe, it has been almost two years since the ESPN Club permanently closed at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.
Over the preceding decades, the ESPN Club had become an iconic part of BoardWalk. After years of struggling, however, the eatery was finally closed.
Months after the end of the ESPN Club’s reign, Disney announced that The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rodgers would be moving into the former restaurant, with construction beginning in December 2022.
Well, here we sit in February 2024, and there is still no opening date for The Cake Bake Shop in sight. While fans and BoardWalk visitors alike have grown frustrated with the slow progress of the construction project, we may have finally hit a milestone.
Window’s Have Been Installed on the Restuarant’s Tower
Today, when visiting the future Cake Bake Shop location, we discovered that windows have finally been installed in the building!
That’s right! White window frames with glass panes can now be found on both sides of the restaurant’s tower.
Here is how the building looked before.
While each wall of the restaurant’s tower now has two windows, as you can see, the first floor remains unfinished.
Here is another look. The project looks like it is making progress, but it still looks far from finished.
When Will The Cake Bake Shop Open?
While The Cake Bake Shop was initially scheduled to open last year, that obviously did not happen.
Hopefully, progress continues, and we see the new restaurant open soon!
