Seas Husbandry
So, what is the job? According to the vacancy posted yesterday on the Disney Careers portal, the job title is “Seas Husbandry Associate,” located at Lake Buena Vista.
If you’re wondering what this entails, let us enlighten you! At Disney, a Seas Husbandry Associate will be responsible for the care of aquatic animals and habitats, including Disney’s own sharks, fish, and rays!

Working as part of the Animal Care Team, the job will include habitat maintenance, feeding the animals, taking special care of the systems, and generally ensuring the day-to-day well-being and care of aquarium inhabitants.
And yes, this will include swimming with the animals! Comfortability with swimming and working in a wet environment is a required skill listed for this role. So, if you want to be where the fish are, this is surely the job for you!
The Seas
As any fan will tell you, the best variety of sharks and aquatic animals can be found over at EPCOT in Walt Disney World, right inside The Seas pavilion. There, all kinds of fascinating species of aquatic animals live happily, and we are sure it would be any under-the-sea explorer’s dream to work among them.

Who Can Apply?
Although this role is labeled as a “starting point for a career in aquarium science,” there are a few skill requirements potential candidates should be aware of before they apply. These include a valid US driver’s license, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, a knowledge of working safely with chemicals, and proficiency in basic computer functions. A high school diploma or equivalent is also required.
Although not necessary to apply, a SCUBA certification is also a preferred qualification, along with previous experience caring with aquatic animals. As well as this, an associate degree or higher in a relevant field would also make an application stand out!
