Disney+ Adds Hulu Tile in Beta Launch
Disney+ is close to reaching its final form, as the streaming app just added a significant piece.
After years of planning, Disney+ has finally added the Hulu tile. From now on, you can watch Hulu within Disney+.

Here’s what we know about the updated app.
What Just Happened?
On December 1st, Disney sent a wire transfer of $8.6 billion to Comcast.
That payment signified Disney’s full ownership of the Hulu app, a product that has existed since 2007.

Disney now owns the entirety of Hulu and can do as it sees fit.
The company always planned to integrate Hulu into the Disney+ app.

Internationally, a different Disney service called Hotstar performs the same purpose. It adds adult content to an otherwise child-friendly service.
From today forward, Hulu will do the same thing on Disney+. You can watch Hulu content from within the Disney+ app.
What’s Available?
The Hulu tile on Disney+ is technically just in beta today for bundle subscribers. So, we’re still playing with the buttons a bit.
However, a cursory glance at the available content indicates that most, if not all, of what you’d expect to find on Hulu is now accessible via Disney+.

In short, you’ll soon be able to ditch your Hulu app and simplify to a single streaming app for all Disney content (excluding ESPN sports).
Disney describes the new offering as adding ” thousands of movies and series from Hulu’s library for playback via Disney+.”
The Disney+ app is currently highlighting the best of Hulu with a section entitled Featured, and it includes the titles you’d expect.

Here are some of the Hulu programs currently listed in the Featured section on Disney+:
- Abbott Elementary
- The Bear
- Family Guy
- Fargo
- Futurama
- It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
- The Kardashians
- Murder at the End of the World
- Only Murders in the Building
- Prey

So, Hulu’s buzziest shows are now available within Disney+, which is a legitimate game-changer.
A few years from now, people probably won’t even remember that Hulu was once a separate app.

As a reminder to parents, you have the opportunity to change your settings within Disney+.

Other than that one fractional change, the addition of a Hulu tile on Disney+ is a huge win for all of us.
