Why You Might Have to Wait to See the NEW Walt Disney Statue in EPCOT
In case you missed it, Disney just opened the new Dreamers Point area of EPCOT, with the new “Walt the Dreamer” statue as a main feature.
This new spot features a statue of Walt Disney sitting on a bench just south of Spaceship Earth, and it’s a great spot for photos. But if you were hoping to quickly snap a photo and be on your way, here’s why you might want to prepare.
Long Line
In order to see the new Walt the Dreamer statue, there is an official queue set up by Cast Members. When we first visited the statue this morning, the line wasn’t too bad.
But as the day went on, a longer queue began to form, and in the early afternoon, a Cast Member estimated that the line was about a 60-minute wait.
Note that there isn’t an official PhotoPass photographer posted there, so you’ll want to be prepared with your own phone or camera.
There are Cast Members located at the entrance and exit of the line, so you can probably ask one of them for the estimated line length if you don’t want to wait too long.
Most importantly, be patient and calm. It’s the first day that the Walt the Dreamer statue has been revealed, so it’s possible that the line will be much shorter as time goes on.
