Hard Work Continues on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Imagineers’ hard work continues on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom! We’re almost one year into this massive re-theme, and we spotted some new details today.
With months left to this project, there’s still a lot of work to be done. Progress continues every day, and as always, MickeyBlog is here to keep you up-to-date.
Stone Walkway
Our newest find today is the beginning of the installation of the stone walkway. It’s located in the queue area.
Imagineers are piecing this walkway together stone by stone. This is the perfect picture of the attention to detail that is the Disney Difference.
Sections of stone are separated by brick borders. It’s the perfect design to immerse guests in the feel of New Orleans.
Mountain Progress
The transformation of the mountain continues as new features are added. By the time it’s finished, we may not remember what it used to look like!
Scaffolding continues to surround the front of the mountain, so we know the work isn’t done. The new elements send our sights straight to the Bayou.
Trees are being added piece by piece. Some appear to be fully installed, while others await branches and leaves.
Drawing guests’ attention to this attraction, the crowned water tower sits high in the air above the trees.
Other Areas
Additionally, work continues in other areas of the ride, including the bottom of the drop.
Boards still cover the ride path at the bottom and around the turn. Also, we see an area covered with black draped fabric, though we can’t tell what’s happening yet!
Though we don’t see workers actively involved in this area, materials remain and are being added, so we know this section isn’t complete.
Project Completion
Disney hasn’t released a specific opening date for this attraction yet, but we know we still have a bit of a wait.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is scheduled to open in late 2024 at Disney World. Though it seems far away, we know it will be worth the wait!
