Welcome back to our magical foray through the history of The Walt Disney Company. Today we are looking at the events on this day in Disney history- November 7.
November 7 was a big day in Disney history, with the loss of a Disney Legend, the release of an animated Marvel film, and the premiere of a highly anticipated Disney sequel. So, let’s get started!
The Legend of Lobo Released (1962)
On this day in 1962, The Legend of Lobo was released.
The film saw Rex Allen team up with the Sons of Pioneers to tell the story of a crafty wolf named Lobo who tries to rescue his mate from a group of hunters.
Roy Williams Passes Away (1976)
On this day in 1976, Disney Legend Roy Williams passed away at the age of 69.
Williams was a gag writer, cartoonist, and actor, who would eventually become known as “the big Moosekeeter” on the Mickey Mouse Club. He also created the iconic Mickey Mouse ears hat!
Disney Creates Fall Line (2006)
On this day in 2006, Disney announced they were creating a new video game studio called Fall Line.
The studio would create titles exclusively for Nintendo.
The studio would eventually create two Hannah Montana video games and a Chronicles of Narnia game before folding in 2009.
Enchanted Premieres (2007)
On this day in 2007, Enchanted had its World Premiere in London.
On hand for the festivities were film stars, Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey James Marsden, Idina Menzel, and Susan Sarandon. The film will open on November 21.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year Singalong Released (2008)
On this day in 2008, a singalong version of High School Musical 3: Senior Year hit theaters.
The film was the first High School Musical installment to be released theatrically.
Shake It Up Premieres (2010)
On this day in 2010, Shake it Up premiered on the Disney Channel.
The show followed the adventures of CeCe Jones (Bella Thorne) and Rocky Blue (Zendaya) who star as background dancers on a local show.
Big Hero 6 Released (2014)
On this day in 2014, Big Hero 6 was released.
The film tells the story of a young robotics prodigy named Hiro Hamada who forms a superhero team to combat a masked villain.
Frozen 2 Premieres (2019)
Finally, on this day in 2019, Frozen 2 premiered in Los Angeles.
The sequel to 2013’s Frozen, the film saw the return of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff as they face new adventures.
