Disney revealed its newest ship, the Disney Wish, last year, and we’ve also found out more info about their upcoming ship that’s in the works, the Disney Treasure. But, that’s not all of the new things happening with Disney Cruise Line.

Disney also announced that they will soon have a NEW island that their cruise ships can visit, and we’ve got a first look at some of the concept art along with more details!
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point
Lookout Cay will be Disney’s newest retreat on the Bahamian island of Eleuthera. It’s set to debut in summer of 2024.

Disney says that as soon as you arrive on the island, you will discover “a celebration of Bahamian storytelling, artistry, and culture.”
The arrival point at Lookout Cay is called Mabrika Cove. “Mabrika” means “welcome” in Taino, which is the language of the Lucayans (considered to be the indigenous people of The Bahamas).

Another space on the island is the Goombay Cultural Center. This spot will embody the essence of “Junkanoo,” which is a Bahamian festival that has joyous music and vibrant parades.
This essence will be brought to life in many ways throughout Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. One of these ways include Goombay, which is a traditional music style of The Bahamas that involves singing, dancing and drumming.

The colorful cultural pavilion will have a Junkanoo-inspired arch. This will invite guests to embrace the traditions of The Bahamas and the country’s signature festival, according to Disney.
Family entertainment will also happen on the island, like over at Triton’s Trumpet Stage. The gazebo’s name is actually inspired by one of the natural wonders in the Bahamas – a large, spiraled seashell commonly called “Triton’s Trumpet.”

You can also do some shopping while you’re there at places like Treasures of Eleuthera. This spot will feature locally made gifts and artisan crafts, with a spotlight on Bahamian artists.
If you’re looking for an adults-only space on the island, you can find that at Serenity Bay. This will be exclusively for adults 18 years of age and older.

Serenity Bay is also a location on Disney Castaway Cay and will have a tranquil beach experience along with a dining area and private cabanas.
