Construction Continues on Magic Kingdom Projects
Construction continues on Magic Kingdom projects: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Columbia Harbour House.
While Columbia Harbour House seems to be getting some aesthetic touchups, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a much larger project.
Columbia Harbour House
Columbia Harbour House is a favorite quick-service restaurant at Magic Kingdom. They serve some seafood favorites, like their Lobster Roll, Grilled Shrimp Skewer, and New England Shrimp Boil.
A few weeks ago, construction walls went up around the outside of the building. It looks like it’s just some exterior touch-ups and minor updates.
While it may be a little harder to find the entrance, don’t let that deter you – this restaurant is open during the exterior refurbishment.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
One of the most talked about projects is Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Formerly Splash Mountain, this attraction is getting a major overhaul in its conversion to this new attraction.
Scaffolding went up almost immediately after Splash Mountain’s final drop in January, and work began.
In addition to the work being done on the overall structure and ride system, thematic updates are underway.
Colorful murals are adding touches of The Princess and the Frog, like this one that features Louis!
Imagineering is hard at work, but there’s still much to be done. This new attraction isn’t slated to open until 2024.
If The Princess and the Frog is one of your favorite movies and you’re anxious for this new attraction to open, plan a Disney World vacation in 2024! For a full Tiana experience, stay at Port Orleans French Quarter for a New Orleans vibe (and beignets!).

Those tarps mean they’re painting the newly rounded top – hopefully paint then putting on foliage but then after that they should be able to take down a good bit of that scaffolding… I’d say expect at least 1/4 of that scaffolding to be down by Christmas… exciting developments indeed – thanks for the update!
