You Won’t Believe This Unique New Breakfast Concoction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Kaltxi friends, from a sunny morning in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Today, our MickeyBlog travelers are coming to you from Pandora, where a unique new Na’vi breakfast menu has drawn quite the crowd at one of our favorite planetary pit-stops. You’ll have to see it to believe it though – so let’s go place an order and check it out!
Have you guys been to Pongu Pongu? Tucked away inside The World of Avatar, this cute kiosk is especially well-known for its fluorescent drinks and upbeat vibes. After all, “pongu pongu” means “party party” in Na’vi, so you just know you’re in for a good time here!
Now, as much as we all love Pongu Pongu, it may not necessarily be top of your list when it comes to hunting for breakfast in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. After all, who wants glowing boba for breakfast?
Well, get ready to scratch that though. Today, we’re here to let you know that you actually should put this place on your breakfast radar, now more than ever before. Because, as of this month, Pongu Pongu now offers not only the sweetest new breakfast menu options but also one of the most unique morning time concoctions we’ve seen in a while too.
Are you intrigued? Well, we’ve placed our order, so let’s check these new treats out!
Pongu Pongu Cinnamon Roll
First up, we’ve got a classic on our hands. A Cinnamon Roll!
For many, the humble cinnamon roll is hailed as the epitome of a good Disney Parks breakfast — right up there alongside Mickey Waffles and a good old-fashioned churro.
They’ve been on the menu here at Pongu Pongu for a good few months, but this newly-imagined version of the favorite spicy treat sure is a sight to behold!
Now, while we’re confident this new cinnamonny addition over in Pandora is sure to be well-received, we obviously had to order it anyway for a taste test. I mean, just look at this thing!
Served in a bowl, this bun is quite the pastry explosion, being completely mushroom-shaped! For extra sweetness, the top of the bun has been dunked in beautiful icing and features a glamourous dusting of blue and white sprinkles to finish off the look.
Who knew that the Na’vi ate their breakfast with sprinkles? I certainly didn’t!
Anyway, it was our MickeyBlogger Kayla who tried this, and we’re happy to report that the breakfast treat was a certain ‘win’ in her eyes.
Kayla told us that the bun was soft and fluffy, with a fresh taste that rivals other — I guess you could say “competing” – cinnamon rolls across the parks. This breakfast costs $6.99. Will you be ordering it?
Now, if you’d prefer something more savory for breakfast, don’t worry. Pongu Pongu has got that area of the menu covered too — in the form of the most unusual-sounding sandwich we’ve seen in a while at Walt Disney World! Let’s check it out now…
Pongu Pongu Pancake Breakfast Sandwich
We all know and love classic breakfast sandwiches, right? Bread, sausage, egg, cheese… why mess with tradition? What’s to be gained?
Enter this: Marshall’s Favorite Stuffed Pancake Sandwich With Sausage, Guava Paste, Egg, and Cheese. This unique creation is the newest breakfast sandwich in town at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and just the sound of it has got us totally compelled!
I don’t actually know who Marshall is, but his taste in breakfast sure is intriguing!
What we have here is a sandwich crafted from a dense pancake around sausage and cheese, topped with a folded egg and a layer of fruity guava jam. It’s giving savory, it’s giving sweet, it’s giving… Na’vi, I guess!
Fortunately, Kayla told us that she was also a fan of this second breakfast menu addition.
She told us that the interesting addition of the guava jam added a sweet flavor akin to what maple syrup would usually bring to breakfast, while the rest of the ingredients in the sandwich all matched up perfectly.
The only niggle would be that the sandwich was easily identifiable as a frozen meal that had been re-heated before serving, but overall this was something our MickeyBlog reporters would recommend!
This breakfast sandwich costs $8.99.
Note that we also saw the Pancake Breakfast Sandwich advertised as available at Trek Snacks…
…as well as Drinkwallah.
So, there you have it! Two standout new items on the breakfast menu at Pongu Pongu inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Overall, we’re very pleased to see more “grab-and-go”-style breakfasts have been introduced, especially for those busy mornings “Rope Dropping” the must-do rides of Pandora.
Will you be stopping by to try one on your next visit? Which appeals more – the sweet cinnamon roll, or the uniquely savory sandwich? Whichever your selection, we hope you enjoy!
Sivako!
