Something Weird is Happening with the Parade in Magic Kingdom
We know it’s only the beginning of October, but Disney World is already preparing for the holiday season. There is already a ton of holiday merchandise out in the theme parks and online!
The holiday season basically begins right after Halloween. However, a lot of the festivities are limited to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom.

One of these festivities includes the Christmas Parade. But today, we found out some odd parade news that’s making us question what’s actually going on.
Magic Kingdom Parade Changes
A Cast Member told us that starting today, they’re going down to one parade performance per day in Magic Kingdom. The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade used to be at 12PM and 3PM each day, but now, there will only be a performance at 3PM.

When we asked the Cast Member, they were very vague about the situation. They told us the parade change was because they are preparing for the holidays.

Another odd thing is that starting November 5th, there are no parade showtimes at all according to Disney’s online calendar! This holds true for all of the dates that we can see (which only go to early December right now).

The Cast Member mentioned preparing for the holidays as if to say that the parade would be switching over to the Christmas Parade. However, according to Disney, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is ONLY available during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

The exception is that after MVMCP is over on December 22nd, you can watch the parade in Magic Kingdom during the day. This usually lasts from December 23rd through New Year’s Eve.

Disney has made no announcements about a different parade happening in Magic Kingdom starting in November or about the Christmas parade being available during the day. We will certainly keep an eye on things and let you know what happens!
Festival of Fantasy Parade
If you want to guarantee you’ll be in Magic Kingdom when the parade is happening, you should buy a ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Or, you can schedule a trip during the week of Christmas, starting December 23rd.
If you do want to go to the Christmas Party, we suggest buying tickets soon as they are starting to sell out.

I hope they keep the Festival of Fantasy parade. They can’t get rid of it. It’s a classic parade and is one of the things I look most forward to seeing every trip. It saddens me that there is only 1 showing now at 3pm. But they can’t get rid of it completely 😢. I hope it’s just a glitch in the app because they cannot permanently get rid of FOF. It’s too magical and special to be changed/replaced. I hope they keep the FOF parade for as long as possible with the same floats, characters, outfits, song, etc.
