Guests Sues Disney After Waterslide Wedgie Sends Her to the Hospital
A woman has recently filed a lawsuit against Disney World after a waterpark visit gone wrong. The suit claims that when the woman road the Humunga Kowabunga waterslide at Typhoon Lagoon she got a wedgie so bad that it landed her in the hospital. This is according to court records filed this week.
According to a piece on Fox 35, the woman is suing Disney for $50,000 after the visit to Typhoon Lagoon for her 30th birthday went terribly wrong. The incident in question took place in October of 2019.
According to the lawsuit, the woman claims that she got into the ride position as instructed by the cast member at Humunga Kowabunga. However, as she neared the end of the slide, her body lifted up and became airborne. She was slammed downward back onto the waterslide. According to her attorney, it is this crash back down to the waterslide that caused her clothing to be “painfully forced between her legs and for water to be forced violently inside her.”
Her attorney says that the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment before being transferred for gynecological repairs.
The plaintiff in the suit argues that had she been notified that her choice of swimwear could potentially be hazardous then she would not have ridden the attraction. However, no such warning was given.
The suit was filed in Orange County this past Wednesday. This is a story that we will continue to follow closely. We promise to keep you posted on further news and updates.
