Two Businesses Run By Female Entrepreneurs Coming Soon to Disney World
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog you’ll know that there are a handful of exciting new businesses coming to Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World area in the months ahead. However, what you may not know is that a few of the most noteworthy are actually female-led businesses. This was highlighted during a recent piece in Forbes with a focus on Gwendolyn Roger’s The Cake Bake Shop coming soon to Disney’s Boardwalk and Maneet Chauhan’s “eet” currently under construction at Disney Springs. Let’s take a closer look at each.

The Cake Bake Shop – Gwendolyn Rogers
The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is currently under construction at the former location of the ESPN Club at Disney’s Boardwalk. This location will be Roger’s third restaurant and is slated to open at some point next year.

Rogers got her start by making baked goods for her family before opening her first shop. The entrepreneur said, “I slowly built up a business and I was working in my house and the next thing you know I was outgrew my house and it just became a bigger thing than I ever thought that it ever would be.”
If you’ve been following along with us, you may have seen the news we shared recently that Cake Bake Shop has moved its opening date from this year to 2024. Rogers said of the delay, “I think that the best lessons in life are things that were really hard. But when it’s hard I smile through it, because I enjoy the process so much that I don’t mind and it makes me a better person.”
Eet – Maneet ChauhanFood Network star and celebrity chef Maneet Chauhan is going to be opening a new restaurant bringing Indian cuisine to Disney Springs. The restaurant, called “eet” is the first Florida eatery for Chauhan who has two other restaurants in Nashville. Chauhan describes it as “a modern, fun, and approachable take on Indian cuisine that combines traditional flavors with contemporary techniques and our own modern spin.
Chauhan describes “eet” as a colorful culinary journey, unlike anything visitors will currently find at Disney Springs. The eatery is expected to open later this year.
“eet” will open in the Marketplace neighborhood of Disney Springs. We’ll be following its development closely so keep checking back with us for further updates.
Other noteworthy women-run businesses at Disney Springs include Vivoli il Gelato, an Italian ice cream show; Sugar Boo & Co, a go-to spot for home decor and Wondermade which specializes in gourmet marshmallows.
