September 25th was a busier day in Disney history, with the end of an original Disney show, the debut of a new version of a Disneyland classic, and the premiere of a behind-the scenes look at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. So, let’s get started!
Fishin’ Around Released (1931)
On this day in 1931, the Mickey Mouse cartoon Fishin’ Around was released.
In the cartoon, Mickey and Pluto fish in the “No Fishing” area, and have to escape from the game warden.
The Vanishing Private Released (19420
On this day in 1942, the Donald Duck cartoon The Vanishing Private was released.
In the cartoon, soldier Donald is put on camouflage duty and discovers an invisible paint.
The Final Episode of The Mickey Mouse Club Airs (1959)
On this day in 1959, the original version of The Mickey Mouse Club aired on ABC.
The series was canceled as part of an ongoing dispute between Disney and ABC.
Ultimate Ride Released (2001)
On this day in 2001, Disney released the Ultimate Ride game.
In the computer game, players can build and ride their own virtual roller coasters.
The Greatest Game Ever Played Debuts
On this day in 2005, The Greatest Game Ever Played debuted at the El Capitan theatre.
The film starred Shia LaBeouf as golf champion Francis Ouimet.
The Final Adventurers Club Performance Takes Place (2009)
On this day in 2009, the final performance of the Adventurers Club at Pleasure Island took place.
Although the final public performance took place on September 27, 2008, the show continued to be used for private parties.
Disneyland Halloween Offerings Debut (2009)
Also on this day in 2009, Halloween Screams- A Villainous Suprise i Skies and Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy premiered at Disneyland.
Both the new fireworks show and a holiday version of Space Mountain were created for Halloween.
Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Debuts (2020)
On this day in 2020, Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom debuted on Disney+.
Narrated by Josh Gad, the eight-part documentary takes viewers behind the scenes at Diseny’s wildest park.
Secret Society of Second-Born Royals Premieres (2020)
Also on this day in 2020, the Secret Society of Second-Born Royals began streaming on Disney+.
The series follows the adventures of Sam, a would-be royal who discovers she has super-human abilities.
