What’s This? Tim Burton’s ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Is Returning to Theaters
As hard as it may be to believe, it has been 30 years since Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas was released.
That’s right. It has been three decades since we were first introduced to Jack, Sally, Oogie Boogie, and the rest of Halloweentown’s residents.
A Halloween Classic
Since the film’s release, The Nightmare Before Christmas has built a strong cult following, and for many, it is the quintessential Halloween movie.
For those who don’t know, the film follows the misadventures of Jack Skellington, Halloweentown’s beloved Pumpkin King. After Jack accidentally stumbles upon Christmastown, the well-meaning skeleton attempts to take over the role of “Sandy Claws” and spread Christmas joy in both Halloweentown and the real world.
Returning to Theaters
Well, if you are a Nightmare Before Christmas fan, I have great news! In celebration of the 30 years with the Pumpkin King, Disney is bringing the film back to theaters.
Just in time for Halloween, The Nightmare Before Christmas will return to select Regal Theaters on October 20. For many fans, this will be their first opportunity to see Jack’s attempts to spread Christmas cheer on the big screen.
4D Showings At the El Capitan Theatre
Additionally, the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood will host special 4D anniversary screenings featuring specialty concessions, souvenirs, and more. The theater will begin showing the film on October 14, with a special opening night fan event hosted by Don Hahn.
The theater will then host showings of The Nightmare Before Christmas all the way up to Halloween!
So, be on the lookout. Jack, Sally, and Zero will be coming to a theater near you soon!
it’s a strike filler… 🙃
