Idalia Intensifies into Category 2 Hurricane Tuesday Evening!
Hello MickeyBlog friends and Disney fans! I hope you are reading this and staying safe as many of us wait for the arrival of Hurricane Idalia and severe weather.

Hurricane Idalia has already intensified into a Category 2 storm as it approaches Florida. Flooding, heavy rain, and intense winds are already impacting the coast with more severe weather and power outages anticipated.

As of 5:30 pm, Hurricane Idalia strengthened into a Category 2 hurricane with 100 mph winds. The storm is expected to increase in the coming hours and develop into a Category 3 as it hits landfall Wednesday morning.
The hurricane is expected to bring powerful winds and a potential storm surge of 10 to 15 feet to the Big Bend area.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Idalia is currently located just under 200 miles southwest of Tampa and is moving to the north at 16 mph’s.
Central Florida is taking precautions with numerous school and business closings. At this time, Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World are operating as normal.
