Egyptian Melodies Released (1931)
On this day in 1931, the Disney Silly Symphony Egyptian Melodies was released.
In the cartoon, a curious spider explores a creepy Egyptian tomb, which causes mummies to come to life.
Reason and Emotion Released (1943)
On this day in 1943, the Disney short Reason and Emotion was released.
The World War II propaganda short explored the conflict in the mind between Reason and Emotion.
Inferior Decorator Released (1948)
On this day in 1948, the Donald Duck short Inferior Decorator was released.
The cartoon featured the debut of Spike, a bee who pesters Donald.
The Mickey Mouse Club Theatre Opens (1955)
On this day in 1955, the Mickey Mouse Club Theater opened in Disenyland’s Fantasyland.
The theater presented various Disney cartoons and even housed the Mouseketeers themselves from time to time.
Mary Poppins Premieres (1964)
On this day in 1964, Mary Poppins had its world premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
On hand for the festivities were film stars Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, in addition to Angela Lansbury, Carl Reiner, Debbie Reynolds, George Hamilton, and Angie Dickenson.
A Friendship In Vienna Airs (1988)
On this day in 1988, the Disney Channel Premiere Film A Friendship in Vienna aired.
The film told the story of the friendship of two school girls- one Jewish and one from a family of Nazi sympathizers in 1938 Vienna.
Town Square Exhibition Hall Opens (1998)
On this day in 1998, the Town Square Exhibition Hall opened in the Magic Kingdom.
The Exhibition Hall is now known as The Town Square Theater.
Super Buddies Released (2013)
On this day in 2013, Super Buddies was released direct-to-DVD.
The film told the story of five puppies who find magical rings that give them unique superpowers. It was the final film in the Air Buddies franchise.
