Cast Members Put Finishing Touches on Once Upon A Wish Party

It is almost time for one of the largest wish-granting special events ever, and Cast Members are putting the finishing touches on the special party.

Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Cast Members are finalizing event details for the royal party taking place at Walt Disney World in honor of World Princess Week — Once Upon A Wish Party.

Hundreds of Cast Members helped contribute to this immersive day and create a one-of-akind event for wish kids and their families.

Once Upon a Wish Party

This magical party is part of Disney’s 40+ year relationship with Make-A-Wish and is one of the largest wish-granting events ever.

Over 50 children with critical illnesses and their families will deemed royalty for the evening at a royal ball!

Disney Cast Members

Creating an event like this is an accumulation of dedication, hard work, and passion- all qualities exuded by Cast Members.

Over 500 Cast Members from across the company are assisting by building stages and immersive sets, to cooking up delicious dishes, assembling royal packages with special surprises, and more.

Only at Disney can you make an impact like this. Our cast members take great pride in Disney being the number one wish in the world, and it has been so inspiring to see the passion everyone is bringing to make sure dreams come true for these families….in a distinctly Disney way, of course.

Disney Princesses and Royal Fun

Plenty of Disney royalty is also helping with the event.

Fairy Godmother sent out the official invitations, Cinderella’s mice are decorating at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney princesses are helping too.

“We’ve been planning this event for more than a year and have worked together to make sure every detail is practically perfect,” said Angeline Aguayo, Disney Parks Events Manager.

Make a Wish

For Disney Cast Member and PhotoPass photographer the event holds an extra special meaning.

Abron Kelly will be photographing at the event was once a wish kid themselves. She shared:

Disney is the perfect place for wish families to get to be in the moment and not think about illness for a little while.Growing up in similar circumstances — illness, hospital beds, etc. — Disney was the place I could go and feel like a regular kid. I knew someday I wanted to create that magic for other kids. That’s why I became a cast member.
