Disney Unveils New CommuniCore Hall Mural at EPCOT!
Over the last four years, EPCOT has been in a state of massive transformation. Between the destruction of Innoventions East and West, the addition of Wonders of Xandar, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Journey of Water, and the introduction of World Discovery, World Celebration, and World Nature, it has been a rocky few years at the park.
The park will take a big step towards completion, however, when CommuniCore Hall opens later this year.
Named for the defunct CommuniCore Pavilions that graced EPCOT Center on opening day, the new central building will house a gallery space, mixology bar, kitchen, and space to meet Mickey and his friends.
Ahead of CommuniCore Hall’s opening, EPCOT cast members got a chance to get a sneak peek of the new pavilion. Perhaps even more exciting however, is that Disney has also given fans a glimpse at a new mural that will adorn the building’s exterior.

CommiCore Hall Mural
The new CommuiCore Hall mural is the perfect celebration of EPCOT’s past and future.
Mickey and Minnie stand front and center in the new artwork, with Spaceship Earth and The Land pavilions behind them. Next to Minnie, EPCOT fans may also recognize one of the old Universe of Energy dinosaurs!
To Minnie’s right, guests can find the Universe of Energy, Imagination! and World of Motion pavilions. While two of these three pavilions are now gone, they live on in EPCOT fan’s hearts.
As the monorail rolls by overhead, Figment can also be seen saving a magic wand.
Other fun Easter Eggs in this section of the mural include a Nova Corp ship flying overhead and Dreamfinder’s Dream Catcher floating by.
The last section of the mural features the former Wonders of Life pavilion, Horizons, Mission: Space and The Seas.
While Goofy and Donald are the most prominent characters in this section, EPCOT fans will love to see the SeaBase Alpha diver from the Living Seas and the robot butler from Horizons are also represented!
EPCOT Center fans should also be thrilled that Goofy is riding in a Body Wars vehicle. This is a subtle reference to the defunct Wonders of Life attraction.
All in all, this mural does a great job of celebrating EPCOT’s past, even as the park moves towards the future.
As a longtime EPCOT Center fan, I can’t wait to see it in person!
