This Disney Halloween Dessert is Rolling Its Eyes at Us and We Love It
Tonight is the first night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and we’re here at Magic Kingdom to do all the spooky things!
In addition to the entertainment, ride overlays, and merchandise, there is also a bunch of new food! So, let’s go try the new Halloween offerings over at Cosmic Ray’s.
Cosmic Ray’s Halloween Party Food
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland has a bunch of new food for the Halloween Party! Do note that these items are ONLY available during the party and not during regular park hours.
First up, we have the new Terrifyin’ Twice-Spiced Chicken Sandwich for $12.99. This is a spicy fried chicken breast dipped in hot honey and topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapeño poppers, and bacon and it comes with a side of fries.
This is a really thick piece of chicken on this sandwich! The chicken itself was slightly fry and it had a spicy kick. The breading is also nice and crispy.
You definitely get the flavors of the cheese and the jalapeño poppers but we did wish that there would’ve been a bit more sauce on here to help with the dryness!
The flavor overall is decent, but you might want to grab some ketchup or honey mustard to add more moisture and flavor.
The bun luckily held up very well for this hefty sandwich.
Next up, we have The Snarling Sub which is new as well and available for $11.99. This is a meatball sub with spicy marinara, pesto, and pearl mozzarella “teeth” served on a black roll with a side of fries.
This was pretty good! There’s a little bit of kick in the marinara sauce and you get a good amount of sauce as well.
The meatballs are decent but we wouldn’t let this sit too long before you eat it because the bread will get very soggy due to the sauce!
We do wish the bread was maybe toasted a little bit to add another texture.
And, we know the cubed cheese is supposed to be like the teeth here, but shredded or sliced cheese would’ve balance the sandwich a little more so you could get some in each bite.
But, we did like it and it’s a filling option!
Now for dessert! Check out the new Zombie Fingers for $6.49. These are almond cookie fingers with key lime pie white chocolate ganache, salted caramel crisp pearls, and sugar eyes.
These cookies are pretty soft and we got some vanilla flavor as well. They’re really good!
The key lime ganache is a little weird with this, though.
We really enjoyed the cookies but we’re not sure if we’d pair it with the ganache.
But, it’s a very fun and photogenic treat — It almost looks like its rolling its eyes at you!
Finally, we have the new River Stix Elixir for $5.49. This is a kiwi lemonade with luster dust and it’s non-alcoholic.
This was super tasty and a great option instead of just your standard soda.
It has a nice sweetness to it and you can taste both the kiwi and the lemonade.
We’re also happy to say that this drink isn’t overly sweet, so it’s not like a sugar rush!
Overall, Cosmic Ray’s is a decent option for food during the party. But, do note that this kind of food can feel really heavy on a hot party night.
If we had to pick favorites, we’d say the sub and the lemonade were the best. But, they all take a great picture!
Stay tuned for more from the first night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
