Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride Reopens- Then Quickly Breaks Down
Disneyland fans were excited when Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride reopened today after a three-week refurbishment. Unfortunately, that excitement was short-lived, however, after the ride quickly closed again.
As part of the overall refurbishment of Fantasyland’s dark rides, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride closed On July 24, for general maintenance. The attraction’s Fantasyland neighbors, Alice in Wonderland and Peter’s Fans Flight, also underwent refurbishments this summer, as Disneyland continued to spiffy up their classic attractions.
Today, the attraction briefly reopened today for the first time in weeks, and a few guests were able to ride.
Mr. Toad Crashes
Unfortunately, however, something quickly went wrong and the ride was closed.
While no reason for the closure was given, we did spot some\ engineers heading into Toad Hall to see what the problem is. I have faith that these magical maintenance men can get to the bottom of the issue.
Hopefully, Disney is able to quickly fix whatever is plaguing the attraction, and Mr. Toad can return merrily on his way to nowhere in particular soon!
In case you were wondering, as our very own Greg has proven- you can still get your photo taken in the Mr. Toad ride vehicle outside the attraction!
Toad-less in Walt Disney World
While fans visiting Disneyland will surely be disappointed that Mr. Toad is down, as a longtime Walt Disney World visitor I am just jealous that the park has the ride at all!
The closure of the Florida version of Mr. Toad in 1998 remains a sore spot for many who loved the quirky attraction. Alas, for now, I will have to make do with the Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride photo op that was installed for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party.
As always, continue to check back with MickeyBlog. We will bring you updates on the status of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in addition to all of Disneyland’s attractions!
