Is This the Most Underrated Breakfast Spot at the Magic Kingdom?
Breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day, and certainly not something you’re going to want to miss out on during your next trip to Walt Disney World!
Today, our MickeyBloggers are here to share with you a spot that we think is one of the most criminally underrated breakfast spots at the Magic Kingdom, and give you the insider scoop on what you should be ordering when you go.
Feeling hungry yet? Us too! Let’s go!
Ok, let’s set things straight first of all. When it comes to breakfast options, the Magic Kingdom isn’t exactly lacking – with options ranging from the most enchanting formal sit-down service to the more casual, gotta-run-quick-to-rope-drop-Space-Mountain kind of places.
But, if someone were to say “on-the-go Magic Kingdom breakfast” to you – where would your mind go first?
Gaston’s Tavern? Main Street Bakery? Both great, solid options, for sure.
However, we’re gonna bet that you probably didn’t think of this quaint little kiosk stop known as Westward Ho, which is the underrated spot we’re going to rave about to you today!
Tucked away in the sleepy Frontierland, Westward Ho is one of the lesser-known, lesser-appreciated food stops at Magic Kingdom… especially when it comes to breakfast.
To help lead the campaign into getting this place recognized, our wonderful reporters ordered a full breakfast there this morning, and we can’t wait to share their thoughts with you below!
First things first… coffee!
We’re thrilled to report that the coffee served at Westward Ho is Joffrey’s, so you just know from the get-go that it’s going to be good. There’s a great assortment of flavors to choose from here, including seasonal blends too (coconut at the moment, although we bet pumpkin spice isn’t going to be far off!).
A perfect way to start the day!
The next menu item we have to share with you is on the sweeter side – perfect for those of us who need an early-morning sugar fix to see us through a busy park day!
It’s these gorgeous donut holes, which cost $5.49 for the portion of five.
Covered in powdered cinnamon-sugar, these donut holes were very dense and cakey to enjoy. They aren’t filled, but perfectly simple and sweet, and sure to fill you up in the morning!
But, if you’re someone who prefers a savory breakfast, don’t worry, as Westward Ho has got you covered too!
This here is the Breakfast Sandwich from Westward Ho, which cost $6.99 off the menu. It’s a classic combination of egg, bacon, and cheese on a multigrain croissant, perfect for eating on-the-go and right out of the bag!
Like the donut holes, this croissant-sandwich was a win for our reporter, who enjoyed the flavor and gooey cheese.
The bacon could have been a bit crispier in our personal opinion – but of course this is all down to individual preference.
All in all, we couldn’t recommend Westward Ho enough for a quick and easy breakfast stop at the Magic Kingdom.
While other – shall we say more “high profile” – eateries such as Gaston’s Tavern and Main Street Bakery will always have large morning queues, Westward Ho remains fairly quiet and casual in the morning, even as people rush to grab their coffee fix.
Especially if you find yourself over in Frontierland in the morning – perhaps to rope-drop Big Thunder Mountain – it couldn’t be an easier location to make a quick stop at. Plus, it’s on the cheaper side, too!
So, next time you find yourself at the Magic Kingdom for some early-morning adventures, be sure to consider Westward Ho for your breakfast. Enjoy!
