WHY Can’t the Italy Booth Ever Get It Right at EPCOT Festivals?!
It’s the first day of EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival and we’re in the park to show you everything going on!
The festival runs from today through November 18th this year and includes exciting food, merchandise, activities, and more. Come along with us as we check out some new food at the Italy booth over at the Italy Pavilion!
Italy
Italy has a whole new food menu this year at the festival, and we’re excited to try it!
The Italy booth typically sort of struggles to hit the mark during festivals, so we’re really hoping it can pull through for Food & Wine.
First up is the new Focaccia Ripiena for $9. This is freshly-baked focaccia, beef meatballs, tomato sauce, and burrata cheese.
Sadly, this was a pretty big miss. It’s super average.
It honestly just tasted like a boring meatball sub, which is surprising since burrata usually makes any dish shine!
Next, we have the new Cavatelli with sweet sausage ragoût and crispy applewood-smoked bacon for $10.
And unfortunately, we have another disappointment. This dish literally tasted like microwavable pasta, which is just sad.
There wasn’t any flavor in this pasta at all. C’mon Italy, we were rooting for you!
Finally, there is a new Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake with vanilla cream and strawberry compote for $8.
AT LAST, we have something that’s possibly worth your money! This is a very basic cheesecake, but cheesecake is delicious, so it’s a win.
We enjoyed the tang of the lemon cheesecake mixed with the strawberry and the ricotta definitely makes this very creamy! This is the best thing on the menu, for sure.
All of the drinks here are returning items on the menu. You can get Prosecco for $11.50, Moscato for $12, Chianti for 11, Italian Sangria (Red or White) for $12, an Italian Margarita with tequila and limoncello for $12, or a Peroni Pilsner, which is $6.50 for a 6 oz. pour or $11 for a 12 oz. pour.
Overall, we would save your time, money, and stomach space and skip over this booth, unless you really want some cheesecake. It’s honestly almost impressive how the Italy booth continues to disappoint. Oh well, there’s always next time!
