Fried Pickles Were EXACTLY What EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival Needed!
The 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has just begun and we’re here checking everything out! You can follow along with everything we do today right here.
There is a bunch of new food and merchandise, as well as some special activities happening. For now, let’s talk about the food — specifically the food over at The Fry Basket!
The Fry Basket
The Fry Basket is a returning booth after debuting for the first time at the festival last year. It’s located over by Test Track.
Can you guess what’s on the menu? Yep — FRIES!
Let’s start with the one new food item over here — the Pickle Fries with dill ranch for $5.50.
These were served fresh from the fryer so they were hot and very crispy!
The pickle inside is tender and has your typical dill pickle flavor.
The dill ranch was a great addition to these pickle fries and brought the whole dish together!
You get about 4-5 per order, so they’re great for sharing as well!
There are also some returning fries, like the Adobo Yuca Fries with garlic-cilantro aïoli for $5.50. These are a plant-based item.
You can also get a Fry Flight for $7.50. This comes with Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar Fries (which are plant-based), BBQ Bacon Fries with smoked aïoli, and Sweet Potato Casserole Fries with candied pecans, toasted marshmallow cream, and maple bourbon glaze.
The salt and vinegar fries have just the right amount of salt, and the BBQ bacon fries are certainly the most flavorful of the three. The sweet potato fries are a great dessert option on this flight!
As for drinks, there is one returning cocktail and one new beer. The returning cocktail is the Salty Dog Cocktail which has Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka with grapefruit juice, ginger, simple syrup, and lime with a salted rim for $12.
We found this to be a refreshing beverage that pairs nicely with the Fry Flight. But, it is a little on the tart side due to the grapefruit juice.
If you’d rather a beer, you can grab the new Stone Brewing Buenaveza Salt & Lime Lager! This is $5.50 for 6 oz. and $9.50 for 12 oz.
Stay tuned for more from the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival!
