George Miliotes Led This Week’s Flavors of Florida Culinary Series at Disney Springs
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog you’ll know that Flavors of Florida, the Disney Springs celebration of Sunshine State cuisine has returned for another summer of citrusy eats and treats! New for this year is a Culinary Series. This event takes place at Waterview Park in Disney Springs. Here you’ll learn from the experts at popular Disney Springs dining locations and get to sample some of their “Florida Fare.”
This past weekend’s event featured Master Sommelier George Miliotes and Executive Chef Will Davison of Wine Bar Goerge. They gave a live demonstration yesterday morning focusing on their Dicuru Burrata which is available during Flavors of Florida at Wine Bar George. As you can see from the photos, guests at this event got a behind-the-scenes look at the culinary process at the Disney Springs eatery and also had the opportunity to sample the dish.

The Polite Pig: A Demonstration with Chef James Petrakis
Taking place at Waterview Park next week (July 14th) you’ll get to see Chef James Petrakis (The Polite Pig) demonstrate how to make Key West Pink Shrimp Ceviche. This item can be found on the Flavors of Florida menu at The Polite Pig.
The event will take place from 10:30 – 11:30 am. You can visit disneysprings.com for details on how to register. Capacity is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
A Presentation with Steve Lewis – Owner and Creator of Gideon’s Bakehouse
Fans of the 1/2 lb cookies at Gideon’s Bakehouse won’t want to miss this Culinary Demonstration with Steve Lewis, owner of the Bakehouse. You’ll learn about the origins of Gideon’s which grew out of Steve’s kitchen and his mission to create an extraordinary chocolate chip cookie. You’ll also learn how Gideon’s features a menu crafted with care using high-quality ingredients sourced from around Florida.
The event will take place on July 28, 2023 from 10:30 am – 11;30 am at Waterview Park. Again, registration is limited and on a first-come-first-served basis. You can find out more at disneysprings.com.
A Demonstration with Chef Georg Paulussen, Chef Jennifer Ladisky and Chef Gary Miles
Next, it’s time to celebrate Disney’s very own chefs with this culinary demonstration featuring Chef Georg Paulussen, Chef Jennifer Ladisky, and Chef Gary Miles. During the event you’ll learn how to make some of the Flavors of Florida menu items you’ll find around Disney Springs this summer.
Items may include:
- Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar: Florida Shrimp Tacos
- The Ganachery: Key Lime Pop and Honey Lavender Square
Guests will also be able to sample select menu items at this event which will take place at Waterview Park on August 4, 2023, from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM.
