Tokyo Disney Shares Sneak Peek of 40th Anniversary Drone Show
There’s something wonderfully exciting happening to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Tokyo Disney Resort. In celebration of Tanabata (the Star Festival) Disney revealed plans for a celebratory 40th Anniversary drone show that will be coming to various locations in Japan this summer!

Pretty amazing right!? In this program, 700 drones will light up in the night sky bringing Disney characters to life like shining stars to a very familiar Disney song. Attendees will be able to look on in awe as scenes celebrating Tokyo Disney’s 40th Anniversary come to life overhead.
The drone show is taking place nationwide on the following dates and times:
- Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture- Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 19:30 pm as part of the Abekawa Fireworks Festival
- Otaru, Hokkaido- Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 19:40 pm as part of the Otaru Ushio Festival
- Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture- Saturday, August 4, 2023, as part of the Ishinomake River Opening Festival
Please Note: The event may be canceled or partly changed due to bad weather or for other reasons. Other fireworks festivals to participate will be announced at a later date!
