CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Trees Removed From Splash Mountain
Things are moving along over at Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom as the re-theming of the attraction to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure continues. Here’s a look at our latest construction photos taken by our MickeyBlogger Ed over the 4th of July weekend.
As you can see, the entire attraction is now surrounded by scaffolding.
As a nod to the good things to come, onsite you’ll now find a water tower painted with a Tiana’s Foods sign.
Notice that atop the water tower, you’ll find a tiara that pays homage to Princess Tiana from Princess and the Frog.
Most of the attraction is surrounded by construction walls.
One of the changes that we noticed is that the trees at the base of the ride have been removed.
The area has been cleared and steel panels have been put over the waterway/track.
It will be interesting to see what goes on this central island!
As of going to print, Disney has not given an official opening date for the attraction.
However, this is a story that we will continue to follow closely and we promise to keep you posted!
