Today was a slower day in Disney history, but still featured the debut of a Disneyland attraction, the opening of a fan-favorite ride in Tokyo Disneyland and the re-opening of a Disneyland classic. So, let’s get started!
Trolley Troubles Premiers (1927)
On this day in 1927, the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon Trolley Troubles premiered.

Indian War Canoes Open (1956)
On this day in 1956, Disneyland’s Indian War Canoes opened.
The new Frontierland attraction let guests travel around the Rivers of America with an “Indian guide.
Disneyland Alternates Circle-Vision Films (1984)
On this day in 1984, Disneyland’s World Premiere Circle-Vision began alternating two Circle-Vision 360 films.
The attraction showed Wonders of China in the morning and American Journeys in the afternoon and evening.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Opens (1987)
On this day in 1987, Tokyo Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain opened.
The Tokyo version of the Walt Disney World and Disneyland attraction is located in Westerland.
Walt Disney World Gets A Liberty Bell (1989)
On this day in 1989, a replica of the Liberty Bell was lowered into its permanent spot inside Liberty Square.
The bell can be found across the way from the Hall of Presidents at Walt Disney World.
1,000 American Citizens Sworn In (2007)
On this day in 2007, 1,000 new American citizens were sworn in.
The ceremony featured a keynote address by U.S. Senator Mel Martinez of Florida and Gloria Estefan sang the national anthem.
The Hall of Presidents Reopens (2009)
On this day in 2009, the Hall of Presidents reopened.
The attraction now featured an Audio-Animatronic of President Barack Obama and a new narration by Morgan Freeman.
