Another Disneyland Paris Cast Member Strike Planned for Next Week
Over the past several months the Disneyland Paris resort has been hitting headlines, but unfortunately it’s not that Euro Disney magic that’s making it so talked-after.
Instead, it is the relentless strikes of its own Cast Members, leading to organized protests within the parks themselves, passionately marching for better pay, fairer working conditions, and other workplace rights.
Now, in a tweet shared by DLP Report and others, it has been announced that another strike day has been planned, this time to take place on Monday, June 19th.
In anticipation of the last strike, which took place at the start of the month, Disney took to Twitter to release a series of FAQ-style policies, explaining the likely effects of the demonstration and what it would mean to guests. Those with tickets and other resort reservations were also given the opportunity to amend these bookings should they wish, and you can read more about this here.
At the time of writing, the resort is yet to publicly acknowledge Monday’s strike which, if previous efforts are anything to go by, will undoubtedly have an impact on park operations throughout the day.
At present, both parks at the Disneyland Paris resort are scheduled to open to guests at 9.30am on Monday, after an hour-long Extra Magic Hours for Disney hotel guests. It is worth noting that Disneyland Paris Pride is also happening this Saturday 17th, meaning crowd levels are likely to be affected through the weekend.
During previous strikes, Cast Members have actively marched through the resort’s spaces including Main Street. This has of course led to confusion and unrest among guests and Cast Members alike, with scheduled offerings such as parades and shows having to be canceled.
If you plan on visiting Disneyland Paris in the upcoming week, please be aware of the strikes and how they may affect your vacation. As always, be sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com for updates.
