Disney’s ‘Hocus Pocus 3’ Gets Director and Writer
Disney is hoping to make a little more magic with a third installment in the Hocus Pocus franchise.
Buried in an in-depth profile on the president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Production, Sean Bailey, came the news that the studio is officially developing Hocus Pocus 3.

Hocus Pocus 2 debuted on Disney+ last September nearly 30 years after the original film. Clearly, there was pent-up demand for the sequel, as Hocus Pocus 2 went on to break streaming records upon its release.
Who Is Returning For Hocus Pocus 3?
While we know that a third Hocus Pocus film will be happening, that is about all that we know. No other information about a potential third film, including a release date or casting was given.

Stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker have all previously said they would be open to making another movie.
“I’ve always been envious of people who get to do their favorite character more than once,” Midler told Entertainment Weekly in September. “I’d love to have a franchise — especially a character I love playing.”

Midler went on to say, that if there was a third movie, she had no idea what the plot could be.
“I can’t imagine what the story would be, but I love Winifred, Sarah, Mary, and our relationship,” Midler said. “It’s good for women. We stick together through hell and high water, but we do cause mayhem, and not many women cause that much mayhem!”

Hocus Pocus 2 Director and Writer Returning
While we may not know who will star in the upcoming movie, or have any details about the plot, there has been some news on the Hocus Pocus front.
According to TheWrap, director Anne Fletcher and writer Jen D’Angelo will be returning for the third installment in the franchise.

The other big question surrounding Hocus Pocus 3 is where the film will debut. While the last installment of the franchise was a hit on Disney+, with Disney publicly announcing a shift in its streaming strategy, it’s possible that Hocus Pocus 3 could hit the big screens.
