Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Was the Best Selling Game in April
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was the best-selling video game in the United States in April, despite only being available for two days.
The second installment in the Star Wars Jedi series, the game picked up on the adventures of former Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis and the crew of the Mantis.
Although plagued with technical issues at launch, particularly for those playing on a PC, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor has received rave reviews from critics and players alike.
A Continuing Story
In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, fans play as Cal Kestis. The Jedi is continuing his struggle to survive the tyranny of the Galactic Empire. The game features larger and more expansive maps, populated with more non-player characters than its predecessor.
Returning characters include Kestis, Cere Junda (Debra Wilson), Greez Dritus (Daniel Roebuck), BD-1 (Ben Burtt), and Merin (Tina Ivlev).
Joining the game are Bode Akuna (Noshir Dalal), ZN-A4 (Kendal Rae), the Ninth Sister (Misty Lee), and High Republic Dark Jedi Dagan Gera (Cody Fern). Temuera Morrison also returns to portray Boba Fett.
Staggering Numbers
Although EA has yet to share specific numbers for Jedi: Survivor, the game has clearly been a homerun.
To date, Jedi Survivor is the fourth best-selling game of 2023. It falls behind only Resident Evil 4, Modern Warfare 2, and Hogwarts Legacy.
While Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will end EA’s exclusive Star Wars contract with Lucasfilm, game director Stig Asmussen has stated that the series is intended to be a trilogy, with a third installment expected.
