As Layoffs Continue ABC and Freeform Execs Exit
The next wave of Disney layoffs has come for Freeform and ABC Studios, impacting senior executives.
Freeform development executive Julie Jarmon, who is currently the SVP of development, is exiting the studio. According to insiders, the Executive Vice President of original programming, Jamila Hunter, will take over Jarmon’s duties.

Over at ABC, SVP of Current Programming Stacey Adams has also been let go. Adams, who was leading the network’s drama current team, will hand her duties to the head of drama, Brianna Bennet. The executive will now spearhead both development and current.
As Disney looks to streamline its operations, it seems that the company is implementing a structure that will forgo standalone current programming units, and combine them with development.

ABC Signature’s Music Departments Consolidated
Meanwhile, also over at ABC, ABC Signature’s music departments are being consolidated under 20th Television’s EVP and head of music Jeremy Summers.

His ABC counterpart, Dawn Soler, will be leaving the company. Soler had been with ABC for over sixteen years.
“Bye bye ABC….. more later,” she wrote on Facebook.
Round Two of Disney Layoffs
The Walt Disney Company is in the midst of its second wave of widespread layoffs. Industry insiders say that in total, nearly 4,000 jobs will be cut by the end of the week.
