The Birds are Back at Maharajah Jungle Trek in Animal Kingdom
Disney World is a HUGE resort, so regular maintenance has to take place to keep things up and running!
We see refurbishments pretty often, whether it be a ride or a full park. Even things as small as a bathroom refurbishment can make you change your plans.
For a while now, an attraction in Animal Kingdom has been under a partial refurbishment. But now, it’s back open!
Birds Return to Jungle Trek
The Maharajah Jungle Trek is located over in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom. It’s a wilderness trail where you can see a ton of beautiful animals like tigers and gibbons.
In here you will do things like cross towering footbridges and roam around the jungle bends. There are also some waterfalls!
The legend is that the Anandapur Royal Forest was once the hunting ground of wealthy maharajahs, but today it’s a lush tropical paradise.
Along with many different kinds of animals, there’s also an aviary in the trek! But, the aviary has been closed since January of this year for refurbishment.
Now, the aviary has reopened! You can once again hang out with the birds along Maharajah Jungle Trek.
We went by to check it out! Here’s a look at all of the birds you might encounter in here. There are over 50 species of birds.
Note that the birds are free roaming in here. You also can’t bring in any food!
There are usually Cast Members inside that will tell you about different birds if you want to know more.
We spotted several birds inside, like this little guy.
And, this pretty big guy!
There are so many different kinds of birds that you can observe in here!
Along with the birds, you can find other animals along the trek like Asian tigers, Elds deer, Komodo dragons, Malayan flying foxes and more.
Make sure you go on by and see it for yourself if you want to take a closer look! Stay tuned for more Disney news and updates.
