Iconic Hollywood Studios Sign Reappears
Last month, we reported that a restaurant landmark mysteriously disappeared in Hollywood Studios. Well, the case has been cracked; the iconic sign has reappeared!
The Brown Derby
Our MickeyBlogger is at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today where she noticed it back in its rightful spot. Are you familiar with The Brown Derby?

If you’re like me, the first thing that comes to mind when you hear that phrase is an I Love Lucy episode from 1955. Entitled, “L.A. at Last!” it’s one of my all-time favorites!
Lucy gets starstruck when popular movie star William Holden sits next to her booth. She orders spaghetti and gets caught with her mouthful as Holden watches!

Ethel famously cuts the noodles with scissors from her purse, providing one of the funniest moments in TV history! The Brown Derby wasn’t an imagined restaurant featured in an I Love Lucy episode.
It was a real, Hollywood hot spot, frequented by actors. The original, opening in the 1920s, was shaped like a hat!

The Hollywood Brown Derby
Speaking of which, Disney World’s version, The Hollywood Brown Derby, dons a sign that looks just like the original. A brown hat sits perched on top of the Hollywood Studios restaurant.
In February, the sign went missing. While the restaurant remained open, we speculated that it (the signage) might change in some way.
Iconic Sign Reappears
Well, it’s back and it appears to have been given a refresh! Formerly chipped paint has been remedied and faded colors have been addressed.

Before
The hat now dons a true brown color with yellow text. Check out the before and after photos to see the difference! (Before: Above & After: Below)

After
As I often say here at MickeyBlog, it’s the little things!
Although these small touches may seem insignificant, Disney Parks are famous for their attention to detail!
We’re glad to see this iconic Hollywood Studios sign back where it belongs! Is anyone else suddenly craving a Cobb Salad?!
