Best Snack Shacks at Walt Disney World
Face it. Sometimes when you’re at Walt Disney World, you’re hungry and want food right then and there.
You don’t want to wait in a long line or go through the aggravation of a Mobile Order. That’s when Disney’s shacks and kiosks come in handy.
Here are the best Disney snack shacks when you need a quick bite!
Aloha Isle/Pineapple Lanai
I suspect everyone understands why these two places earn a mention here.
They’re two of the Walt Disney World locations where you can order the sweetest sustenance of all: the Dole Whip!
You’ll find Aloha Isle in Adventureland. It’s in the vicinity of Magic Carpets of Aladdin and Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.
You can also pick ice cream floats and other treats here, but why bother? You’re here for the Dole Whip!
Similarly, Pineapple Lanai resides outside the parks at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
However, when you’re visiting a monorail resort, you can exit the beloved hotel lobby here and bag a Dole Whip at this counter!
Dino-Bite Snacks
You’ll find this snack shack at DinoLand, U.S.A., a place that admittedly isn’t known for its high-quality cuisine.
Disney veterans know how well Dino-Bite Snacks works in a pinch, though.
At the window here, you can buy basic snacks like chips, pretzels, and cookies. Those foods are inclined to make you thirsty and the day feel warmer, though.
Instead, the best usage of Dino-Bite Snacks is for its ice cream! A coke float here has healed me on hot days at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
You’ll also find ice cream sandwiches and waffle cones here.
The strawberry waffle cone isn’t any better than one you could buy in your town, but it can be your salvation in 90+ degree weather.
Harambe Fruit Market
I have an embarrassing confession about this delightful hut at Animal Kingdom.
For years, I heard that the street corn at that one fruit market was to die for, but I could never find the place.
Eventually, I grew frustrated and did what no man enjoys: I looked at a map.
As fate would have it, Harambe Fruit Market had been my go-to snack spot for years. I just hadn’t known its name…or that it sold street corn.
In my defense, the Whole Fruit for sale here draws so much of the attention that it’s easy to ignore everything else.
Still, once I ordered the Grilled Corn on the Cob with African Spices, there was no going back.
You’ll find this place in Harambe close to Kilimanjaro Safaris. Also, you can order the corn without the African Spices.
However, I’m not someone who can handle spices as a rule, yet I still love them on this cord. Take a little risk!
Kat Saka’s Kettle
When you’re strolling through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, I strongly encourage you to order some popcorn here. Yes, that’s what “kettle” is.
Disney has turned the basic grain of popcorn kernels into a more addictive snack by using, oh, let’s say, Batuu ingredients for a better flavor kick.
Think of the kettle corn here as cast members using The Force to thrill your tastebuds.
Also, I recently learned that the Cold Brew Black Caf at Kat Saka’s is really good.
Pongu Pongu
When I say Pongu Pongu, Disney pros almost reflexively think, “Night Blossom!”
That’s the star drink/snack at this shack right beside Satu’li Canteen. In fact, you’ll probably grab a table at that restaurant to eat your Pongu Pongu snack.
The Night Blossom comes from an unholy combination of apple, pear, and limeade flavors that somehow…works?!
As part of the drink, you eat these weird little gelatin pellets that explode in your mouth as pure juice.
Presuming you want something more filling, the other recognizable snacks here are the Na’vi-sized Pretzel and the Pongu Lumpia.
That second thing is a Pineapple cream cheese spring roll. So, this particular kiosk is unlike anything else on this list.
You should pick it when you’re feeling a bit more daring. Honestly, we grab-and-go here a lot because it’s right outside the gift shop at Avatar Flight of Passage.
Popcorn in Canada
I had to make a brutal choice here about which of my three favorite popcorn carts to leave off this list. Three would be overkill, right?
So, I’m heartbroken to say that Liberty Square Popcorn Cart, the place where I eat the most, didn’t quite make the cut.
In my defense, you’d brutalize me if I excluded Popcorn in Canada and claim that my anti-Star Wars bias caused me to leave Kat Saka’s Kettle off the list.
To a larger point, if we’re all being honest, the Canada pavilion serves THE tastiest popcorn at Disney.
If you bring a refillable popcorn bucket to Popcorn in Canada, that Maple Popcorn will leave you smiling for hours.
Also, as far as lingering tastes go, is there anything better than maple syrup? I say no.
Trilo-Bites
By now, you’ve probably guessed that I snack the most at Animal Kingdom.
The combination of extra walking and higher temperatures leads me to replenish energy more frequently.
Thankfully, I like the snack shacks at Animal Kingdom better than the restaurants as a whole.
Among them, Trilo-Bites gives me what I want the most. Yes, that’s a Dole Whip. But we’ve already covered that a couple of times.
You may prefer something else, though. The Churros with chocolate dip here are exquisite, and the Buffalo Chicken Chips are unexpectedly filling.
Oh, this place serves beer, margaritas, and vodka, too. So, if your kids are driving you nuts at The Boneyard, this shack may prove your salvation.
Don’t drink something strong and then head to Expedition Everest, though. That’s a rookie mistake.
Yorkshire County Fish Shop
Imagine a tiny house that serves no purpose other than to serve a staple of British cuisine. That’s what Yorkshire County Fish Shop is.
This walk-up counter serves three snacks: chips, mandarin oranges, and the one that matters most, Fish & Chips.
So, I visit here when I want an entrée-sized snack to go. And you should visit here for a quick pint. It serves beer and…Joffrey’s Coffee. Don’t ask me why.
That’s the thing about Disney snack shacks. Every menu comes with a few hard-to-explain surprises.
That’s why you should always eyeball the menu options whenever you walk past a snack shack. You never know when they might serve street corn!
