10 Awesome Experiences Coming To Disney World in 2023
Wow! It is shaping up to be a banner year at Walt Disney World! Disney has just announced a whole host of awesome new dining experiences, nighttime show, attractions and more heading to the theme parks in 2023. We’ve shared a TON of magical news with you this morning but to help you keep it straight here’s a quick round-up.
1. There’s Still Time To Get in on Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Fun
You still have the rest of March to experience Disney World’s incredible 50th Anniversary celebration. The festivities conclude on March 31, 2023! That means you still have a couple of weeks to visit Mickey and his pals dressed up in their EARidescent costumes as well as enjoy special 50th Anniversary sights, tastes and merchandise.

2. Get Ready For New and Returning Character Greetings
Moana – Animal Kingdom: We are so excited that Disney’s character meet and greets have come back in full force. From the look of it, Disney is just getting started! We are so happy to share the news that starting on April 22nd, Moana will be meeting guests at Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. We can’t think of a better way for Animal Kingdom to celebrate its 25th Anniversary.
Figment – EPCOT – Over at EPCOT, fans of Figment will also have the opportunity to meet the beloved dragon at his home in the Imagination Pavilion beginning in Late Summer!
Mickey and Co. – EPCOT Speaking of EPCOT, Mickey and the Gang will also have a new home at EPCOT in Communicore Hall. This space will open later this year as part of EPCOT’s epic transformation.

Mirabel – Magic Kingdom- Moving over to the Magic Kingdom, Get ready for the Family Madrigal. Mirabel from the popular Disney film Encanto will start greeting guests in Fairytale Gardens (the former home of the Merida meet and greet.)
Don’t Forget! – In addition to the new offerings mentioned above, let’s not forget all of the other incredible character encounters that have arrived at the parks over the last few months. This includes: Pete’s Silly Sideshow, Enchanted Tales With Belle, Ariel’s Grotto and Cinderella’s Royal Table!

3. Roundup Rodeo BBQ Opening Soon at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Mark your calendars Disney friends! March 23rd is the day that Roundup Rodeo BBQ officially opens at Toy Story Land in Walt Disney World. This new table service spot will be serving up barbecue-inspired comfort foods at the first Toy Story-themed table service eatery in the world. You’ll be in awe at this space which was result of a collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering, Disney Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney World Food & Beverage.

4. Get Ready for Fabulous Nighttime Spectaculars
“EPCOT Forever” will be returning to the World Showcase on April 3, 2023. This popular nighttime show features stirring renditions of beloved EPCOT tunes and is a favorite with Disney fans!
Happily Ever After – Magic Kingdom – “Happily Ever After” one of Magic Kingdom’s most ambitious and magical nighttime spectaculars will be returning to light up the night sky over Cinderella Castle starting on April 3rd. Best of all, the nightly fireworks show will feature some brand-new projects that will now extend down Main Street USA!

5. The Great Awaits on TRON Lightcycle Run
Magic Kingdom officially gets a new coaster on April 4, 2023 when TRON Lightcycle/Run opens to the public! Get ready for some big thrills as TRON has the distinction of being the fastest coaster attraction at any Disney theme park. The ride is a perfect blend of coaster thrills, high speeds, state-of-the-art visual effects, music and unique ride system.
As we’ve previously mentioned here at MickeyBlog, A virtual queue will be in place for TRON Lightcycle/Run. Guests will also have the chance to purchase individual Lightning Lane entry for TRON via the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit!
6. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park Celebrates 25 Years
On Earth Day 2023, Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park will be celebrating a very important milestone. April 22, 2023 will be the 25th Anniversary of the beloved theme park. With the return of Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond as well as the upcoming Moana meet and greet, there’s never been a better time to visit the park. Don’t forget that there’s also high-speed thrills with Expedition Everest and you can immerse yourself in the world of Avatar at Pandora.

7. EPCOT Continues its Incredible Transformation
Journey of Water – Those visiting EPCOT later this year will be able to enjoy exciting new experiences! You’ll be able to explore the wonders of water when Journey of the Water opens. Inspired by Moana, this fun interactive outdoor trail will give guests the opportunity to play and interact with water as it travels from the sky to the oceans and back!
Completion of World Celebration – The hub of the park is currently in the process of getting a fantastic facelift. Once finished guests will be able to explore gardens that change during the seasons. Guests will be able to meet Mickey and Minnie at the new Communicore Hall and Dreamers Point will be unveiled featuring the “Walt the Dreamer” statue.
Communicore Plaza/ Communicore Hall – Meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie mouse with this new meet and greet experience.
Unnamed Nighttime Spectacular Coming Later This Year – In addition to the return of EPCOT Forever which we mentioned above, a brand new (and as yet unnamed) EPCOT nighttime spectacular will be making its debut. Though Disney is keeping all of the exciting details a secret, we do know that it will feature a dazzling display of music, pyrotechnics, lasers, lighting and beloved Disney songs.

8. EPCOT to be Hub of Disney’s 100th Anniversary Celebration
Kicking off later this year, Walt Disney World Resort will join the global celebration marking the 100th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. Get ready to celebrate and be inspired by the company’s 10 decades of creativity and innovation. We expect more exciting details about the celebrate in the months ahead!

9. Narcoossee’s to Reopen with New Decor and Menu
A beloved signature dining favorite will be returning on April 1, 2023. Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will welcome guests to an exciting new dining experience. You’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Seven Seas Lagoon will enjoying new menu options like the Blackened Redfish, sample new plant-based options and order up returning favorites like lobster bisque.
10. New Disney Springs Eatery Coming Later This Year
Disney has announced that a new table service eatery currently under construction at Disney Springs will be opening in Late 2023. Summer House on the Lake will bring its seaside charm to Disney’s downtown shopping, dining and entertainment district with a menu inspired by California-cuisine, impressive wine and cocktail list and an adjacent bakery for grab-and-go-options!
