Seven of the Worst Disney TikToks Ever
We have had some mortifying TikToks lately.
These viral clips have encouraged the kind of behavior that often leads to Darwin Awards nominations.
Sadly, since the inception of TikTok, some of its users have uploaded content that’s, well, idiotic.
Here are seven of the worst Disney TikToks ever.
The Fake Proposer
Let’s start with a mostly harmless TikTok since I know many of the others will anger you.
A married man has developed a weird tactic for embarrassing his wife.
Whenever they’re at Disney, he occasionally drops to one knee and proposes to her.
No, this person isn’t a hopeless romantic trying to renew wedding vows. To the contrary, he seems like someone who will need a divorce lawyer soon.
Here’s the TikTok:
@kelly_kirb we were already engaged so he knew he could get away with this. We go back in June, wish me luck. #fyp #foryoupage #husbandwifecomedy
Yes, his entire goal here is the public humiliation of his wife. Simultaneously, he’s cheapening the proposals of everyone else who has gotten engaged at Disney.
Dude, learn how to read micro-reactions. This woman’s gonna enjoy her second marriage so much more.
The Lying Parents
Not every stupid TikTok occurs due to the poster. Instead, they sometimes capture other park guests acting terribly.
For example, what would you do if you noticed somebody trying a stunt at the park entrance?
A Disney guest faced this dilemma when they noticed this nonsense unfolding in front of them:
@myfrienditsmebarbie Poor kid was in an infant car seat #theyaregoingtoknow #disney #onlyindisney #theywillneverknow
Yes, someone shoved their child into a stroller to avoid paying an extra admission ticket…a CHILD-PRICED admission ticket!
In watching the TikTok, you may notice that the cast member does a kind of second look at the end.
I can’t help but wonder whether they realized and decided it wasn’t worth the aggravation to shout, “STOP, THIEF!!!”
The Person Lacking Boundaries
When a sign says Authorized Personnel Only, do you enter that room anyway?
If you stumble across police tape, do you ignore all rules of common decency and cross the line anyway?
When you know that you’re not supposed to sit or stand somewhere, do you do it anyway?
Of course, you don’t. You’re a civilized person who understands your role in society.
Sadly, not everyone is like you. Some idiots make it all about themselves.
For example, there’s this person:
https://www.tiktok.com/@embleier/video/7137058567449890094
As near as I can tell, the individual wanted to get banned from Disney theme parks as quickly as possible.
So, the instant she exited Space Mountain, she hopped the railing and sat on the table providing background décor for the ride.
I’ve watched Disney bust someone doing this, and I can confirm it leads to shouting, followed by tears. Nobody wants to get kicked out of Disney.
Some guests like this brainiac must learn it the hard way, though.
The Person Loving Cucumbers
I must cheat a bit on this one to tell the story. In a way, it’s the worst one, as the person freaked out and deleted their entire TikTok account afterward.
Seriously, nobody thinks about accountability until they’re facing it.
Anyway, here’s a Tweet of a TikTok video:
Welp, Living With The Land had its run without lap bars… this is why we can’t have nice things pic.twitter.com/9TDUz9bqBr
— Brandon (@FantasmicEars) June 21, 2021
Yes, this behavior mimics what happened on Space Mountain…but it’s even worse!
A woman inexplicably jumps off a boat at Living with the Land to grab a cucumber.
What happens next is sad and a bit terrifying. Let’s just say that the person probably wouldn’t pass a breathalyzer.
So, they stumble and fall while trying to snag that elusive cucumber. It’s like EPCOT’s answer to the Golden Snitch, apparently.
The clearly inebriated woman fails, fails again, falls, falls again, gets help from someone else, boards the boat at the wrong spot, and then returns to her original seat. It’s painful to watch.
You’ve had the munchies before, I’m sure but you’ve never acted like this, have you?
The Reckless Parents
This TikTok is one of the two new ones that forced the creation of this article.
I’m not joking when I say that the first time I watched this TikTok, I could feel my jaw clench.
Here, see for yourself (warning: foul language):
That’s a YouTube video I had to substitute after the fact because the family deleted the offending TikTok.
The clip is self-explanatory. An influencer family with 1.2 million subscribers on TikTok risked their child’s safety so that he could enjoy some thrill rides.
The short-sighted parents glued several inches of extra soles to the child’s shoes.
In the process, the child could pass the height restriction Disney puts in place for everyone’s protection.
In short, the couple jeopardized their child’s safety to create an “ultimate theme hack” viral video.
You cannot comprehend the amount of resources Disney expects to ensure the safety of all children.
Those height requirements exist so parents never need to worry about their children while on rides.
Most Disney fans recognize this fact, which explains why the internet absolutely brutalized the parents.
Comments like “And just like a cannon, he will be yeeted out of his seat” encapsulated the public consensus.
The universality of the criticism forced a non-apology apology TikTok that was also later deleted. It is part of the video I posted above.
This post, which feels like it comes from Bob Chapek’s PR team, has done nothing to silence critics because, well, SLINKY DOG DASH IS A ROLLER COASTER!!!
The family has since added a second apology TikTok for the first apology TikTok, which tells the whole story here.
The Reckless Theme Park Experts
My colleague, Christy Weinberg, has already perfectly summarized my feelings on this topic.
Here’s the deal. Several TikTok users have recently tried a viral method for riding Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
Someone who must hate Disney fans has suggested that people loosen their safety harnesses on the ride.
The thought process is that you’ll enjoy more airtime when the ride cycles through its weightless portions. And the problem with this thought process is that it’s ignorant.
The phrase “safety harness” isn’t accidental. It’s literally a harness that keeps you safe.
When you loosen that harness, you’re inviting tragedy.
Disney has found this trend so worrisome that it has updated the ride’s signage. If a cast member catches you doing this, they’ll kick you out of the park!
So, don’t do that.
The Shirt Thief
A TikTok user with hundreds of thousands of followers at the time revealed her trick for getting free Disney swag.
While Disney happily sends merchandise to some influencers, movie critics, and the like, this particular tactic required a trick.
The individual deduced that cast members tracked a modest dress code policy.
If someone wearing a revealing outfit entered the park, the Disney worker would take note of the situation.
Often, the cast member would ask the person to head to a merchandise vendor. The park guest would receive a voucher for a free shirt.
Disney approached vaguely inappropriate outfits with this tactful solution.
The person would wear more clothing, but they’d get a free Disney shirt in exchange. That’s win/win, right?
Alas, this TikTok alerted thousands of park guests to the idea:
@amandaaadimeo Free Disney shirt hack #fyp #disneyworld #disney
Soon afterward, Disney changed its policy, which another individual discovered the hard way.
I won’t post the TikTok since it’s a bit risqué, but the later park guest wore a skimpy bikini top to Disney.
A cast member stopped her and informed her that she must buy a shirt for coverage. The woman asked about the free shirt.
A Disney worker laughed and said the company changed the policy after the first video went viral.
That influencer ruined a decent system for everyone! She nearly doubled her follower count and gained 6.2 million likes in the process, though.
