Azul to Add Fifth Disney-Themed Aircraft Featuring Goofy!
Last year, we reported that a fourth and final Disney-themed aircraft arrived in Brazil. In an unexpected turn of events, Azul has decided to add a fifth, Goofy-inspired plane to its fleet!
Azul Linhas Aéreas
Disney Parks Blog reported the news today, and we couldn’t be more excited! Azul Linhas Aéreas, a Brazilian carrier, has been partnering with Disney to promote beloved characters since 2021.
Four aircraft currently feature a unique portrait of a classic Disney character on their exterior. Inside, a distinctive cabin follows suit, donning special, Disney-related touches.
Mickey Mouse was painted in September 2021, followed by Minnie Mouse in December of that same year. Donald Duck was next, featured in early 2022.
In December, we shared that Daisy Duck would adorn the final plane, undergoing a customization process at a factory in Toulouse, France. Now, Azul has decided to add another one of the Sensational Six to its fleet.
Fifth Disney-Themed Aircraft
Earlier this month, Azul Linhas Aéreas and Walt Disney World Resort announced that Goofy would inspire a fifth plane’s design. Over 400 special Guests were treated to the news at an event in Campinas, Sao Paulo.
On top of several surprises, Guests enjoyed Disney character interactions and a special performance by a local music duo. In addition, the four current Disney-inspired planes were there, uniting for the very first time.
This line of Disney aircraft is known as “The World’s Most Magical Fleet.” Goofy’s new plane will make Azul Linheas Aéreas “the largest Disney Character-inspired fleet flying anywhere in the world today.”
Goofy
A classic Disney character, Goofy debuted in Mickey’s Revue in 1932. His contagious laugh made him stand out as an audience member.
Due to this loveable character trait, Walt Disney started featuring him in various cartoons. And the rest is history!
I don’t know about you, but as a Disney fan, it makes me happy to see more characters added to this magical Disney-themed fleet! I’m sure if we caught up with Goofy, he would be flattered, and utter a simple “gawrsh!”
