Why You Should Expect TRAFFIC This Weekend in Disney World
February 23rd to the 26th mark the 2023 runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, which means runners descend onto Disney World for some epic races through the parks.
Although the races typically begin well before the parks open, that doesn’t mean you won’t encounter crowds throughout the day, whether they’re runners returning to the parks or regular guests. So exactly how crowded is it?
runDisney Traffic in Disney World
While driving to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this morning, one MickeyBlogger encountered huge traffic getting onto Western Way.
We’re talking stop-and-go traffic.
The moral of the story is that if you visit Disney World on a runDisney marathon weekend, make sure you plan to encounter crowds and traffic.
Pack your patience pants and plan for extra time.
That goes for inside the parks too! In Magic Kingdom on Thursday, the crowd was so heavy that even Genie+ Lightning Lanes were backed up.
The next runDisney marathon is the Springtime Surprise Weekend from April 13th to 16th, so if you don’t plan to run and you want to avoid crowds, make sure not to visit that weekend.
