Orlando Bloom Reflects on ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Character
Orlando Bloom is currently wrapping up Carnival Row, with the second and final season recently premiering. In a new interview, he reflects on some of his favorite characters to play, including Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean!

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise began in 2003, with The Curse of the Black Pearl. Along with Jack Sparrow, famously played by Johnny Depp, fans were introduced to another main character, Will Turner, played by Orlando Bloom.

Unbeknownst to Will at first, he eventually finds out that he’s the son of a pirate, Bootstrap Bill Turner. As the series progresses, his character transforms from a blacksmith/swordsman to a pirate like his father!
In a recent interview with Parade, Bloom took a look back at some of his iconic characters from popular franchises. Although he’s currently enjoying his role as a father, he reflected on some of his most famous parts.

When asked about Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lord of the Rings, Bloom shared his family’s favorite. He says, “Pirates is such great, fun entertainment!”
Bloom gratefully added, “I’m very lucky to be a part of these.” Afterward, he was asked which of his previous roles he would choose to revisit.

Bloom states that he already got to reprise his role as Legolas, 10 years after the originals, in The Hobbit. He shares that he had “a lot of fun” because the character is “a great space to be in.”
Bloom went on to reflect on his role as Will Turner from The Pirates of the Caribbean. He adds, “Will’s so great. I wouldn’t mind seeing what Will looked like today in some ways, because he was such this earnest guy, but after rumbling around the bottom of the ocean for as long as he would have done at this point, it’d be interesting to see how he surfaces and what he’s like.”

I’m sure fans would be delighted to see Orlando Bloom reprise his role as Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Never say never!
