Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania Delivers $17.5M in Previews
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania fared well in previews yesterday, bringing in a respectable $17.5 million.
The box-office looks to be a picnic for Marvel’s latest entry into the MCU, with the third Ant-Man film expected to gross between $95 and $100 million on its opening weekend.

A Franchise Best Opening
While that number would fall short of other Marvel openings such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($185 million) and Thor: Love and Thunder ($144 million), Quantumania will certainly have the highest grossing debut in the franchise’s history.

For context, Ant-Man grossed $6.4 million in Thursday previews, on its way to a $57 million dollar opening weekend. Likewise, Ant-Man and the Wasp earned $11.4 million in previews on its way to a $76 million dollar opening in 2018.
Kang is Coming
One of the biggest factors in Quantumania’s success may be the draw of Jonathan Majors’ debut as Kang the Conqueror. Although fan’s got to see a variant of the character in Season 1 of Loki, the latest Ant-Man film will be his proper debut.
On possible stumbling block for Quantumania may be word of mouth. The film currently holds an 49% rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which would be a low mark for the MCU.
Despite the mediocre reviews, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania still features the return of Paul Rudd’s charming Ant-Man. The hero is joined by Evangeline Lully as Wasp, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyke. With that much star power behind it, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania seems set up for success.
