RUMOR: Doctor Strange 3 Will Be Released Before Avengers: The Kang Dynasty
Ever since the loss of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers at the end of Avengers: Endgame, fans have speculated what the next iteration of the Avengers will look like.
While Captain Marvel, Sam Wilson’s Captain America, and Ant-Man all seem like they will be returning to the team, the leadership void left by the loss of Iron Man and Captain America looms large.
The most obvious person to step into that leadership hole is Dr. Steven Strange. Over his character arc, Steven Strange has sacrificed, mentored America Chavez, and led a splinter group of Avengers in their fight against Thanos.
The biggest obstacle to Doctor Strange assuming leadership of the Avengers however, is that the last time we saw him he was heading into the Dark Dimension with Clea.
Perhaps in an attempt to further Doctor Strange’s story before the Avengers assemble again, rumors are swirling that Marvel may fast track a third Doctor Strange film in order to release it before Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2026.
Doctor Strange 3
According to insider Jason Kane, not only is Marvel planning on releasing another Doctor Strange film before The Kang Dynasty, but original Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson may be returning to the director chair!
In order to get another Doctor Strange film released by the end of 2026, Disney would have to delay the release of some of the other MCU properties, including the aforementioned Avengers: Kang Dynasty.
So, what do you think? Do you like the idea of another Doctor Strange movie preceding the Avengers? Also, are you excited about Scott Derrickson’s return? Let me know below!
