Delightful New Dessert Box Packed with Petit Sweets
When Disney’s Riviera Resort opened a few years ago, the luxurious destination instantly became a foodie favorite at Walt Disney World. From the exquisite Topolino’s Terrace to the evolving menus at Primo Piatto, the magnificent resort houses some of our favorite culinary choices on property. With the debut of a new Valentine’s Day exclusive, another Riviera establishment proved its epicurean awesomeness.
Just inside the lobby of the Riviera sits Le Petit Cafe, a super place to grab an iced latte both for guests of the resort as well as those passing by on the Skyliner. For the next few days, the locale also offers a romantic Valentine’s Day holiday exclusive, a Dessert Chocolate Box ($12.99).
Delicious Dessesrt Box Details
Even the packaging of the heart-shaped delicacy features chocolate. Painted to resemble a rustic wooden exterior, the confectionary box seemed almost too pretty to eat.
Inside, the box features three small desserts: two raspberry macarons, two hazelnut praline truffles, and the resort’s signature Riviera brownie.
“The raspberry macarons are absolutely incredible,” according to MickeyBlogger Jessie, who popped by Le Petit earlier today. Compared even to the delectable Parisian macarons she recently tried, Jessie said these tasted quite similar thanks to their fresh ingredients and a texture that melted at first bite.
The truffles almost had an almost-Irish Cream flavor to them thanks to the nutty mixture. We especially liked the added crunch of the hazelnuts nestled within the chocolate shell.
With the richness of the truffles, the slightly sour taste of the raspberry macaron balances out the trio of desserts before one bites into the ultra-decadent Riviera brownie.
Known for its chocolate-forward flavor profile, the Riviera brownie truly showcases the dimensions of dark chocolate. Though a bit dense, the cake’s flavor does not overpower and celebrates the smooth, decadent flavor of the cake’s main ingredient.
One may want to make sure to eat the box itself rather quickly as the chocolate fondant exterior does melt easily in the Florida weather.
To offset the sweetness of the sides, both the box’s base and the top are made out of dark chocolate, giving a bit of bitter balance to all of the sweet.
Finding The Way to Le Petit Cafe
To find Le Petit Cafe, hop on the Skyliner from either Disney’s Hollywood Studios or EPCOT. Then, head over to Disney’s Riveria Resort. The coffee shop sits nestle just next to La Boutique, the resort’s unique merchandise location.
