Refurbished Rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Will Be Inspired by ‘Moana’
As we reported earlier this morning, the reopening of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World has been pushed back to Summer 2021. In addition to there being less of a demand for rooms at Walt Disney World due to reduced capacity, Disney will take advantage of this time to refurbish the rooms and Great Ceremonial House at the Resort. Per the OrlandoSentinel.com, we are now hearing that the refurbished rooms at the Polynesian will be inspired by the hit Disney film, “Moana!”
The OrlandoSentinel.com is reporting that per a Walt Disney World spokeswoman, refurbished rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will feature a “Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette as well as details, patterns, and textures from Disney’s ‘Moana,’ an animated film that takes place on the Polynesian island of Motunui.

At this time, Disney has only stated that Disney’s Polynesian Resort will reopen in Summer 2021 with no exact date. However, per the official Walt Disney World reservation site, Guests can begin making reservations with a check-in date beginning May 21, 2021.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort was scheduled to reopen earlier this month. Then, that date was pushed back until October 4, 2020.

Disney’s the Resort’s extended closure, Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows will remain open. It also appears that Kona Cafe and Captain Cook’s will remain open. However, we just recently learned that the Monorail station at the Resort will be closed.
While many people, including myself, are disappointed in the extended closure of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World, it will be worth it to be able to stay in a “Moana” themed room!
