Flavors from Fire Sports Both Hits and Misses at EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival
It’s time for some more food at the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! We’re at the festival checking out all of the food booths and bringing you our full reviews.
Right now, let’s head on over to Flavors from Fire to see if the menu items are worth your time and money!
Flavors from Fire
Over at Flavors from Fire, you’ll find a few new and returning items. All of these have something to do with fire!
The booth is located over in the area between creations and Test Track. You can check out a map right here!
Let’s start with the new! This is the Chimichurri Marinated Skirt Steak Taco with crushed avocado, grilled corn salsa, pickled red onions, queso fresco, and cilantro-lime cream for $6.50.
There is SO much flavor in this taco! The creamy cheese and avocado have a great contrast to the tanginess from the corn and onion, and the steak was cooked perfectly. This is one of our favorite bites so far!
The other new item here is a dessert! The Spiced Chocolate Tart is $4.75 and has a BBQ potato chip crust, salted whisky-caramel, and smoked sea salt.
We didn’t find this to be super great. We thought the flavors would be very punchy, but they were pretty subtle. The texture between the crunchy and the creamy was nice, but the flavors overall weren’t anything notable.
For the returning items, we have the The IMPOSSIBLE Burger Slider for $6. This has wasabi cream and spicy Asian slaw on a sesame seed bun and is a plant-based item.
Our reporter said this might be the best thing they’ve eaten today! It was very flavorful and has a char on it giving it a great texture. The wasabi ranch is also very tasty!
The other thing returning here is the Smoked Corned Beef for $6.50. This comes with house-made potato chips, cheese curds, pickled onions, and beer-cheese fondue and is also a part of Emile’s Fromage Montage!
We didn’t find this to be a “wow” at all. It was fine and we did enjoy the cheese and house-made chips, but it wasn’t super flavorful compared to the other food here.
All of the beverages at this booth are returning. You can get the Saugatuck Brewing Company Bonfire Beer, which is 6 oz. for $5.50, 12 oz. for $9.50.
There is also a wine — the Four Virtues Bourbon Barrel Zinfandel for $6.50. And, you can get the Swine Brine featuring Jim Beam Bourbon for $11. And yes, that is a BONE in the cocktail — it’s a piggy wing.
Stay tuned for more from the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival!
