Space 220 Temporarily Moves to A Virtual Queue
Welcome Space fans! We can’t stop talking about the brand new Space 220 restaurant at Epcot this week! We took you to the grand opening yesterday and today we’re announcing a bit of a change to the launch system.
Space 220 is not taking accepting reservations until September 27, but for this week, the out-of-this-world restaurant is using a virtual queue. (Don’t worry, it’s not quite as complicated as those other virtual queues!)
You simply visit the restaurant and wait in line to be given a return time. That’s it! Guests were initially given the opportunity to select a lunch or dinner preference as capacity allowed. Our MickeyBlogger Abby got in line about 30 minutes after park opening and, while the wait time wasn’t long – less than 30 minutes – lunch timeslots were all booked up by the time she received her 4:45 p.m. return time.
Guests can choose if they’d prefer to eat in the lounge or the main dining room but will be seated based on first availability.
Remember, this is for this week only. Starting Monday September 27, reservations will change the system. The lounge at Space 220 will always be walk-up only, meaning Guests will not require a reservation to be seated there. Tables in the main dining room will require a reservation.
Guests with reservations and table seating must order from the Space 220 pre fixe menu. Those seated in the lounge can choose to order a la carte from the lounge menu OR go the pre fixe route with selections from the dining room. Lounge-goers have options!
Seating times did fill up on Tuesday so if you’re visiting Epcot and plan to launch 220 miles into outer space, we recommend heading straight there to obtain your boarding time as early as possible!
Reservations for next week’s 50th Anniversary launch filled up extra early this morning, opening anywhere from 15-30 minutes ahead of standard dining reservations. Our MickeyBloggers have all enjoyed their voyages aboard Space 220 over the last few days; we can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks of this new immersive dining experience!
