New Daisy Flower Shop Display Arrives on Main Street USA
When Walt Disney World opened, one of the most frequently photographed places wasn’t an attraction, or even it a character meet-and greet, it was the Greenhouse and flower market that used to reside on Main Street USA.
Before the 2001 Emporium expansion, West Center Street was blooming with flowers and fauna, creating a colorful sight.
In old photographs and movie reels, you almost always see the flowers of Main Street, which goes to show just how popular that area was.
While the Main Street USA of today’s Magic Kingdom, no longer features a greenhouse, or even a West Center Street, it seems that Disney may have not completely forgotten about their botanical past after all.
Daisy Flower Shop Display
On the far end of what was is today known simply as Center street, Disney has installed a new vignette depicting Daisy Duck selling fresh cut flowers!
Now on one hand, this may just be a fun way to celebrate Spring, especially with Valentine’s Day in the immediate future.
I however, like to think of the new display as a subtle tribute to the long lost Main Street Greenhouse. After all, the new display is directly across from where the greenhouse once stood, and Daisy is even wearing a Cast Member name tag!
Whether or not this new Daisy vignette is really a tribute to the Main Street Greenhouse, it is still a great addition to Main Street USA’s facades.
Here is a closer look at Daisy. Her daisies are available for only 5 cents!
If you want to see this Daisy flower shop display in person, be sure to visit Center Street the next time you are in the Magic Kingdom. It is a quite, out of the way location, and one of my favorite places to sit and take in the sounds of the most magical place on earth.
