Orlando International Airport Ranked Worst Airport of 2022
Before I start this article, I want to state that I have had nothing but great experiences at Orlando International Airport. The people there are always friendly, its easy to navigate, and the monorail is a fun way to start your trip to Florida.
With all that being said, a recent report by the vacation planning website Family Destinations Guide has compiled date from the U.S. Bureau of Transportation and unfortunately MCO came out as the worst airport of 2022.

The Worst Airport?
The airport that almost all of us fly into on our way to Disney, led all airports with 28.24% of its flights delayed and 3.52% cancelled. These percentages came out of an an astounding 108,330 flights in 2022.

While Orlando did have the highest percentage of delays, the airport with the highest cancellation rate was Newark International Airport. The New York airport cancelled 5.94% of its flights.
A Tough Year For Florida
Overall it was tough year for Florida airports. Four of the top five “worst airports” ended up coming from the Sunshine State. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, Tampa, and Miami rounded out the list. All three of those airports had a cancellation rate above 3% and a high delay percentage.

In defense of the Florida airports, the outbound flights are often heading to unfair weather. Likewise, because of the massive amounts tourists coming into the state, Florida airports face an immense amount of pressure from passengers.
Other airports with a high number of flight interruptions included Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Midway in Chicago, and New York’s JFK.
