One of my favorite parts of the original Guardians of the Galaxy film was Peter Quill‘s attachment to this Walkman, and his love the music of the 1960s and 70s. By using those songs as cultural reference points, the film made Peter that much more relatable.
Well apparently I wasn’t the only one who loved the idea of the Awesome Mix Vol. 1, because the cassette tape would become a theme throughout both Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
