The Traditional Christmas Pickle Ornament Get a New Look at Epcot’s Germany Pavilion
The Christmas period may have “wrapped up” for another year, but the magic and festivity will always be present at Epcot!
Die Weihnachts Ecke, or The Christmas Corner, is the adorable store tucked away in the Germany pavilion in the Epcot World Showcase, and it’s full of adorable holiday crafts and creations year-round.
With a majestic tree lighting up the middle of the room and a cozy hum of cheer all round, it’s a great place to buy gifts, meaningful souvenirs, or just to soak up on some German Christmas spirit!
One of my personal favorite things about this store is that it is where I first discovered the tradition of the Christmas Pickle.
It’s an adorable family activity that has been enjoyed for generations, and Epcot is a great place to be to lean all about it!
According to tradition, a pickle ornament should be the last decoration added to a tree during the holiday season.
Then, on Christmas morning, children can hunt for the pickle amidst the tree’s branches, with luck and fortune for whichever child spots it first. How cute?
Thanks to this legend, Christmas pickle ornaments are regularly on sale over at Die Weihnachts Ecke, meaning you don’t have to travel all the way to Germany to start your family’s next tradition.
However, there’s been a fun new restock in the store recently, with the humble pickle suddenly sporting some magical new accessories!
Our MickeyBloggers spotted this fun new ornament in the festive store today, and we think it’s one of the most lovely designs yet.
The pickle is wearing a sweet Santa hat, complete with a glittering gold bell, and big Mickey Mouse ears protruding out the top!
If you’re hunting for a meaningful souvenir to mark a festive holiday, this pickle really cuts the mustard.
Now, every Christmas morning as you’re hunting for the pickle among your tree’s branches, your family can be reminded of your special, festive Walt Disney World trip. Isn’t that lovely?
The ornament cost $24.99 from The Christmas Corner. Will you be hunting for one to take home from your next trip to the World Showcase?
