Our MickeyBlogger Ed is over at the Magic Kingdom today, and popped by Gaston’s Tavern to check out this fancy new menu item.
Sure, Gaston’s is known for those iconic, giant cinnamon rolls, but its’ also becoming quite the stop for dome-shaped desserts inspired by the Sensational Six, too!
Over the past year, we’ve seen the Pluto Dome, the Donald Dome, and the Goofy Dome. We were wondering which of Mickey’s pals would be the next to have their signature style represented in semi-spherical cake formation next, and now we know… it’s Minnie!
Just like Minnie, this adorable cake is covered in polka dots, and has her giant, red, signature bow perched between two ears on top.
Aren’t you curious to know what’s inside this cake? Well, let’s check the menu!
Well, what we have here is a pistachio cake base, with a vanilla citrus mousse sat on top. Between these divine layers is a center of strawberry glaze, meaning there’s a lot of flavors going on in such a small cake!
In fact, we can’t wait any longer! Let’s chop the cake open and see what’s inside!
As you can see from the photos, the cake is just as cute and colorful on the inside as it is from the outside. And, from what our taste-tester Ed had to say about the cake, it sure did taste good, too!
Despite the unique blend of flavors going on in each element of the cake, every layer worked together to create and overall delicious dessert.
Ed said that pistachio fans would especially appreciate this treat, as the sweet, nutty flavor shone through well. Yum!
If you’re looking to grab one of these limited-edition treats for yourself, head on over to Gaston’s Tavern in the Magic Kingdom.
It costs $8.29 – will you be giving it a try?
